Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – Heating issue – stopped charging!

Note 20 Ultra – Heating issue – stopped charging…

Unfortunately, I am facing some heating problems on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G (exynos 990)

I would like to share with you the story – in details – maybe we can benefit from each other

To be honest, I am not yet sure if I can consider this as an issue, since i faced it twice but in a conditions that any phone 📱 gets hot

First, when i received the phone, i switched it on and connected it with my old phone and started smart switch to switch to the new phone.

After that, i disconnected the cable and start configuring the phone…

The phone was on 120 Hz, with 5G connection, simultaneously installing 400 applications, updating 17 Google essential apps, updating Galaxy store apps, connecting to watch and buds and updating the Watch S plugin, and finishing the synchronization.

Then, i decided to put it on charge while finishing all of those processes mentioned above.

Suddenly, I received the message “charging stopped” – charging will continue after the phone cools down. So this was the first time.

Second time I faced a message related to heating was when I was using the S pen on Samsung Note, opened as a multiscreen, and screen was in 120 Hz with 5G connection, and the phone was on the bed (usually, all the phones that i used on the bed it got hot)…

Then i received a message saying that the multiscreen feature will turn off until the phone cools down.

After searching on internet, i found that few are facing heating issues… Also i noticed that Samsung used two different cooling systems on Galaxy Note 20 Ultra phones, on of them is getting heat more than the other.

Until now, i am not count it as a serious issue, so that i still didn’t contact Samsung, also i decided to do different things on the phone for tracking what causes the heat.

First thing i decided to do it is to switch the Display from 120 Hz to 60 Hz.

Until now, i didn’t face any heating issues, and i am feeling that the phone is cool all the time ! Even if i put it on the bed with 5G connection and working in multiscreens.

This is not the end of the story, i will keep using the phone in 60 Hz, and i will try to do more multi tasking… In case I didn’t face the heating issue again, the 120 Hz screen might be one of the main reasons for the heating.

Also, we should add to consideration that the phone usually spends approximately a week to finish intelligence studying your usage on the phone for better performance, so this also might be one of the reasons.

I will keep you updated on any changes

Good luck 🤞
